Our fourth graders turned into food scientists during November’s STEM project, the Butter Cookie Experiment! 🤎🍪

Working in four ingredient teams: Butter, Flour, Sugar, and Egg, students baked three batches each: one classic control recipe and two experimental versions. They recalculated measurements, adjusted proportions, learned baking vocabulary, and discovered how chemistry works inside the oven.
🤎 Then came the best part: tasting and testing!
Students rated the cookies for flavor, texture, color, and shape, and turned their results into graphs and charts to analyze how ingredient changes affect real outcomes.
A perfect blend of science, math, teamwork, and English — and the most delicious STEM lesson we’ve ever had! 🤎🍪
