In the calendar year 2024, we commemorate the 85th anniversary of the outbreak of World War II.

In connection with this and the fact that the eighth-grade class will be studying these events, we went on a trip to Westerplatte yesterday. Over the past few years, the place has changed significantly due to research and archaeological work, and we saw the results. The students learned about the history of the site, the reconstruction of the buildings of the Military Transit Depot, which were destroyed during the defensive actions in September 1939, the new cemetery where the remains of the heroic defenders of Westerplatte were buried, and we concluded our walk at the Monument to the Defenders of the Coast.

The weather was great, and our spirits were high.
