We would like to take a moment to extend our hearty congratulations to our 2019 graduating class.

This fine group of young people made their parents and our school very proud.  They graduated with superlative final certificates and achieved very high scores on their competence tests, outranking both the provincial and national averages.  As a result, each and every one of them got into the first high school of their choice, a noteworthy achievement.

Our Mission Statement’s Graduate Profile mandates that when students leave our school they should be critical thinkers and problem solvers, socially responsible world citizens, and individuals who have developed a love of learning.  The young ladies and gentlemen from this graduating class are indeed this, and more.  They are people with the skills and aptitudes that will ensure their success in their future academic endeavors who will be ready to take on the challenges of the 21st century economy.  Moreover, they have compassion for others, positive, “can do” attitudes, and terrific senses of humor.

It was a pleasure to teach them, and although it was a bit sad to see them leave, that sadness was leavened by the confidence we have in them.  Their hard work, as well as the hard work of their teachers and their parents, makes them ready for the future and whatever it might bring.

Again, our hats are off to these young people and all of the time, effort, and commitment they put into their time at the American School.  As Abigail Adams, wife of the 2nd American President John Adams and a force in her own right said long ago, “Learning is not attained by chance, it must be sought for with ardor and attended to with diligence.”
