STEM Generation – Science for Everyone

The Polish-American Educational Association is implementing an innovative educational project titled “STEM Generation – Science for Everyone”, co-financed by the Amazon Fund. The project, with a total funding of PLN 77,218, will be carried out in Gdynia from June 16 to November 15, 2025.

The initiative aims to develop future skills – logical thinking, creativity, and digital competencies – among children aged 6 to 14, while also fostering intergenerational integration through collaboration with local seniors. The project will engage a total of 168 children and 32 seniors.

Key activities include:

  • STEM-LAB, LEGO Education, and ABC AI workshops,

  • a “Camera – Action – STEAM” competition using artificial intelligence tools,

  • an Intergenerational STEAM Academy,

  • a science-themed picnic to celebrate World Science Day,

  • and a special talk by an Amazon expert on the story of Alexa and the Polish roots of Ivona technology.

Belka MEN

The project “DEB@TE: We Think. We Speak. We Act.”, implemented by the Polish-American Educational Association as part of the "Young Citizens" program, is a comprehensive educational initiative aimed at 84 students in grades IV–VIII of the American Elementary School in Gdynia. Its goal is to foster civic engagement among young people by developing their social, media, and democratic awareness.

As part of the project, students will participate in a variety of educational activities:

  • Media Club and Debate Club – regular extracurricular sessions focused on building rhetorical, mediation, and critical thinking skills

  • "Citizen 2.0" Workshops – on disinformation and digital initiatives of the European Union

  • Meetings with Local Leaders – inspiring conversations with activists and local government representatives

  • "Traces of Freedom" Educational Visits – to the European Solidarity Centre, Museum of the Second World War, and other key places of Polish democracy

  • "Europe Through the Lens" Film Workshops – culminating in the production of a short film promoting democratic values

  • "My Public Service Announcement" Competition – ending with a school film festival

  • "Solidarity ’80" Escape Room – history education through immersive experience

  • School Charity Auction – promoting empathy and solidarity

The activities are carried out with the support of experts, cultural institutions, and non-governmental organizations. Free educational materials will be created and shared under the Creative Commons (CC BY) license.

Science Up! – Young Explorers in Action

Science Up! – Young Explorers in Action is a modern, interdisciplinary educational project implemented by the Polish-American Educational Association. Aimed at 290 students from kindergarten to grade 8 in the Pomeranian Voivodeship, the program seeks to spark curiosity, develop STEM competencies, and support young scientific talents. The project will run from June to December 2025.

🔬 What do we plan?

  • Workshops with science communicators and the creation of stop-motion animations about Marie Skłodowska-Curie and Nicolaus Copernicus

  • Educational Science Camps in Frombork, Toruń, Łeba, and Żarnowiec, focusing on astronomy, geological phenomena, renewable energy sources, and field observations

  • Activities for younger children (Little Explorers) – trips to the ZOO, Gdynia Aquarium, and the Experyment Science Centre, as well as hands-on SMART LAB experiments

  • The Academy of Experiment and STEM (Smart AES) – themed clubs (STEAM, MathMagicians, TechLab, LEGOminds), tutoring, meetings with scientists, and the "My Research Project" competition

  • To support both gifted children and those requiring additional engagement

  • To integrate formal and non-formal education through the use of modern technologies

  • Large-format mats for coding and robotics

  • Experimental kits and field equipment (microscopes, telescopes, mobile labs)

  • Tablets and LEGO® Education sets

The project “Science Up! – Young Explorers in Action” received funding from the Polish Ministry of National Education under the “Explorers” program.

📍 Where will the project take place?

The project will be carried out at the American Elementary School in Gdynia, as well as at educational institutions across the Tri-City area and during off-site educational trips throughout the Pomeranian region.
