As we do every year, the American School celebrated Thanksgiving which fell on Thursday, November 28 this year. Again, it was a special day for us to gather, enjoy a delicious meal, and express our gratitude for our blessings.

We were pleased to have the upcoming graduates from our 8a and 8b classes at the main table this year, along with invited guests whose help and school spirit we are thankful for.

The 7a class, under the direction of Mr. John, performed an original play entitled “Generations React.” As usual, the young people in the 7a class performed with good humor and professionalism.  Special thanks to Ms. Iwona for her contribution, which included professional lighting for the show and professional make-up for the actors.

Special thanks also to Mr. Rob and Ms. Danielle, who joined Ms. Jola in carving the turkeys for the Thanksgiving meal, and of course extra special thanks to Ms. Asia Nowakowska for all of the administrative wizardry she brought to organizing the holiday.

We were also very happy that several of last year’s graduates came to celebrate with us.  We often say that we want our former students to consider the American School their second home, and we’re gratified that they always feel welcome.

President Kennedy nicely summed up the special nature of this special holiday when he said, “We must find time to stop and thank the people who make a difference in our lives.” Thanksgiving provides the time to do this, and we are grateful for the entire American School community.

Mr. John
